From Virginia to Tennessee

Andrew was born in Blacksburg and raised on a multigenerational family farm in Southwest Virginia. He studied history and culture at Virginia Commonwealth University, including a semester in St. Petersburg, Russia, before earning his law degree from Barry University in Orlando in 2009.

Deep roots in Knoxville

Andrew’s grandfather joined the University of Tennessee’s School of Education in 1948. His father—a Vietnam veteran and CPA—and his mother, who worked as a probation officer and substance-abuse counselor, both earned graduate degrees at the University of Tennessee. His uncle, Rufus Beamer, practiced in Knoxville’s legal community for more than four decades.

A broad courtroom practice

Since 2010, Andrew has represented clients through private practice and court-appointed matters. His work has included family-law emergencies, serious criminal charges, civil litigation in state and federal court, and repeated appearances before Tennessee appellate courts.

That breadth matters because legal problems do not always stay in neat categories. A family case can involve an order of protection or criminal allegation. A trial decision may need to be preserved for appeal. A civil dispute may turn on the quality of the record built months before a hearing.
