Knoxville, Tennessee · Since 2010
Andrew Beamer has handled custody, divorce, criminal defense, and appellate matters in Knox County courts since 2010. Honest assessments. Real preparation. The kind of representation past clients have described as "an old friend who happens to be on your side."
Family law leads the docket. Criminal defense, civil litigation, and appellate work round it out — all in Knox and Blount County courts.
Divorce, custody, child support, emergency custody, grandparents' rights, and dependency & neglect. Cases handled in Juvenile and Circuit Court.
DUI, assault, theft, fraud, sex crimes, and delinquent acts. Cases tried at every level of Tennessee's criminal courts.
Contract disputes, landlord-tenant matters, construction, employment, and worker's compensation. Personal injury claims have resulted in six-figure awards.
Arguments before the Tennessee Court of Appeals on protection orders, child support, parental rights, personal injury, and criminal matters — for when the trial court isn't the final word.
These are the things clients tend to say afterward — and the reasons they referred the next person.
He'll tell you the truth about your case. Even when you don't want to hear it. Especially when other lawyers won't.
Family law emergencies don't wait for business hours. Andrew has prepared full case strategy with twelve hours' notice and walked into court ready the next morning.
Cases that cross jurisdictions need a lawyer who knows how to navigate them. Dual-state custody, federal civil litigation against major corporations — both have ended in Beamer Law's favor.
Three generations of the Beamer family have been part of Knoxville. Andrew's grandfather joined the University of Tennessee's School of Education in 1948. Knox and Blount County courts are home turf.
"He was very real, understanding, and told it like it was. It almost felt like having a discussion with an old friend."
"With 12 hours notice Andrew took the time to review all the documentation and was prepared to make our case the next morning. He didn't drag his feet."
"Andrew has been on top of my case like no other lawyer I've had. I'm not the kind to write reviews, but if anyone is needing a lawyer, this is your guy."
Born in Blacksburg and raised on a multi-generational family farm in Southwest Virginia, Andrew brought an early curiosity for history and culture to his undergraduate studies at VCU — including a semester abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia — before earning his law degree from Barry University in Orlando in 2009.
His ties to Knoxville run deeper than his own resume. His grandfather joined the University of Tennessee's School of Education in 1948. His father — a Vietnam veteran, CPA, and the first boy born at Baptist Hospital — earned his graduate degree at UT, as did his mother, who spent her career as a probation officer and substance abuse counselor before her death from breast cancer in 2011. His uncle, Rufus Beamer, was a prominent member of Knoxville's legal community for over forty years.
Since 2010, Andrew has represented thousands of clients across private practice and court-appointed counsel — successfully litigating in both federal and state courts against some of the largest corporations, defending major felonies before Tennessee's senior trial judges, and arguing before the Court of Appeals time and again. He brings the same intensity to a first custody hearing as to a federal civil trial.
